Heidelberg Homeschool Support Group

1st & 3rd Thursdays each month

7-9PM

309 E. 5th St., Madison, IN

Presenting methods and resources to successfully navigate the schooling years with Spiritual Discipline, Rigorous Academics, & Sustainable Schedules

Basic format of the meetings:

  • Two hours (starting and stopping strictly on time)

  • An interactive presentation, teaching, or study by Jeff and Paulette Vincent, veteran homeschoolers, having already graduated 7 of their 9 children, for up to an hour, followed by a time for free discussion and prayer as people share their challenges

  • There will be various readings/studies done as a group or suggested for parents to do together between meetings. They will be sharing their amalgamation of the Principle Approach and the Robinson curriculum.

The Principle Approach is an American Christian method of homeschooling in the Biblical model of discipleship, and reasoning from Scripture. Essentially, parents are the curriculum, teaching their children what they have learned.

The Robinson Curriculum helps students be responsible for their own learning by independent reading, working through math problems, and writing every day.

Meeting from 7-9 pm at Madison Reformed Church, 309 E. 5th St., Madison, IN

1st Thursdays, led by Paulette, addressing mothers in particular. She will discuss methods and resources to provide our covenant children with a rigorous Biblical education that prepares them for college or other careers, while also juggling the demands of life.

3rd Thursdays, led by Jeff, addressing fathers in particular. He will speak to the crucial role of dads in directing the education of their children and supporting their wives.

Starting with meeting for fathers, Feb. 16th, 7-9 pm.

ALL parents are welcome at both meetings. Non-Christians and families considering homeschooling are also welcome while understanding that we are coming from an unapologetically Christian view of parenting. Come and be encouraged to stay the course and not grow weary in well-doing!
